Popular Shiba Inu (SHIB) influencer “Lucie” has shared a few updates regarding the upcoming Shibarium layer-2 network. According to a message on the Shibarium Discord server, there are a few new things coming to the SHIB ecosystem.
Firstly, the message said that there is a “physical digital studio.” This could be a part of the SHIB metaverse initiative, which is set to launch later this year. The second thing mentioned is “Few things for shiboshis holders.” This could mean that people who hold the Shiba Inu (SHIB) NFT (non-fungible token) may have some exclusive access to features, or perhaps they will get some unique features in the metaverse.
Lastly, the message said that there is a “licensed something.” This is a little tricky to guess as it could mean anything. However, it could be something related to a new DEX (decentralized exchange). Another SHIB influencer, Ragnar, revealed that the team is working on ShibaSwap 2.0. However, the most important update was regarding Shiba Inu’s (SHIB) Shibarium network. As per the message, the launch is closer than we expect and the team is “speeding the time of releasing it.”
However, in another tweet, Lucie shared another message from the Shibarium team which said that the network could debut by the end of August. Nonetheless, it is not a fixed launch date. The author of the message said that the estimate was their “own expectation.”
Will Shiba Inu delay Shibarium once again?
Shibarium should have been out months ago. However, development delays pushed the launch to this year. Although lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has also said that the network could launch by June or August, the lack of an exact launch date makes it difficult to take the estimates seriously. The SHIB team has pushed the launch date several times in the past, and it won’t be surprising if they do so once again.
