Currently, Filecoin storage providers are managing nearly 1.7 EiB of data across various notable case studies. The grants program intends to achieve two main goals:
- Increase on-chain Filecoin deal and retrieval payments and settlements.
- Attract more high-visibility, high-impact use-cases to the Filecoin Network.
Through these objectives, the program aims to accelerate growth within the web3 community by supporting businesses that prioritize innovation and expansion. Additionally, the Filecoin Foundation will utilize feedback from grant awardees to identify future areas for ecosystem grants, focusing on improving the open-source infrastructure that underpins the network.
Application Process and Timeline
Details on how to submit an application for the grants are available on the Filecoin GitHub Grants repo. The first submission period will be open through mid-June 2024, with teams being notified of their status by the end of July 2024.
