Web3 project, Overlord, has teamed up with development studio, Revolving Games, to create a sci-fi game based on its popular Creepz Lizard NFTs. This announcement was made on March 24, much to the delight of the fans of the NFT project.
According to Don Smith, cofounder of Overlord, the yet-to-be named game will take place on multiple planets and universes. Both the project and the game developer are dedicated to delivering a title that is accessible across chains right from the very beginning.
That said, players can expect to get immersed in various alien civilizations, each boasting its own story line. Smith notes that “Each species has its own motivations and skills and, due to their unique abundance of resources and technological advancements, have different styles of conquering their enemies.”

Overlord Aims to Achieve Mass Adoption with its New Game
Blockchain gaming continues to build out infrastructure that simplifies the many elements of the technology for developers to deliver a smooth gaming experiences. It’s something Overlord is quite aware of as they get started with their own game. Therefore, as Smith notes, the company’s Web3 gaming strategy aims to deliver excellent gameplay first before shifting focus on game economics. This way, they hope to achieve mainstream adoption.
Speaking to the press, Smith adds that “The blockchain has to be invisible. Players should get all the brilliant benefits of asset ownership and on-chain mechanics without necessarily being aware that it is happening on-chain.”
The news comes a month after Overlord revealed it was working with Stoopid Buddy Studios, owned by Seth Green, to develop an animated series based on its lizard NFTs. Green, a renowned actor and director, happens to be a huge fan of Overlord and holds some of its collectibles.
