Hamster Kombat Airdrop, Potentially The Largest In History, Delayed As OKX Announces Pre-Market Futures Trading For HMSTR

Viral Telegram clicker game Hamster Kombat said it’s “actively working” on a plan to deploy the project’s large scale airdrop as OKX announced the upcoming launch of pre-market futures trading for HMSTR.

With just two days left until the end of the month, Hamster Kombat’s website still notes a July target for the token’s launch, but a lengthy tweet by the team suggested that the airdrop might not take place in the next 48 hours.

Developers Working Closely With The TON Blockchain Team

“Keep in mind that this is a very complex technical task for all the platforms involved since Hamster Kombat is one of the biggest projects in the industry and can become the biggest airdrop in history,” the project’s team wrote in a July 29 post on X.

The developers also warned of a “potential overload for the networks involved in the process.” Hamster Kombat’s team then concluded the post by saying that they are working closely with the TON blockchain team to “develop the most efficient technical solution” for the airdrop.

The viral game has amassed more than 250 million players in just a couple of months even as it attracts criticism from governments from Russia to Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

OKX To Launch Pre-Market Futures For The Hamster Kombat Token

While Hamster Kombat’s team tries to solve the logistics of the project’s highly-anticipated airdrop, crypto exchange OKX will be activating pre-market futures trading for the HMSTR token on Aug. 1.

In an announcement yesterday, the exchange said that USDT-margined pre-market futures for HMSTR will be enabled at 10:00 a.m. UTC on that day.

This feature will allow OKX users to trade expiry futures on HMSTR despite the fact that the token has not officially been listed on the platform. All trades will be USDT-margined and will let traders bet on the new token before it enters the spot market.

Bybit has already launched pre-market trading for HMSTR. Crypto exchanges including KuCoin, Bitget and Gate.io have also expressed their willingness to open pre-market trading for Hamster Kombat’s token.
