Hugely-anticipated web3 gaming platform Nifty Island has entered Open Beta.
Players can now create an account and play for free. Holders of over 140 top NFT collections can play as 3D versions of their NFT avatars within the game.
The release of Nifty Island’s Open Beta means that the game’s Play-to-Airdrop system – which sees Open Beta participants earn $ISLAND tokens – is also now live.

What is Nifty Island?
Nifty Island is a community-driven gaming platform where players can build and play games together, explore player-created islands, and compete for rewards.
Each player gets a free Island plot. These can be used to build imaginative spaces, design splendid environments, and create games for other players to dive into – from competitive to casual and everything in between. Obstacle courses, battle royale modes, spy hunts and more are all featured in-game.
User-generated content (UGC) is a big part of Nifty Island. Artists can create weapons, avatars and environmental objects to place on their island, or to sell to other players to upgrade their experience. Island designers can monetize by building environments and experiences that draw players to their island.
Over 140 NFT collections have partnered with Nifty Island, allowing users to play as their NFT avatar and unlock exclusive in-game experiences. This includes projects such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, Pudgy Penguins, Cool Cats and many, many more.

How does the Play-to-Airdrop work?
Players can climb weekly leaderboards by playing minigames and drawing players to their island by building exciting games and experience. This will earn rewards ranging from in-game wearables to coveted NFTs and $ISLAND tokens.
Quests, which will make their in-game debut soon, will give players another way to progress and earn a wide range of rewards.
Exact details on the activities which will reward $ISLAND tokens, or when the airdrop will taken place, are yet to be revealed.
