Iran and Russia want to issue stablecoin backed by gold.
Iran is working with Russia to create a “token of the Persian Gulf region” that would serve as a payment method in foreign trade. The token is projected to be issued in the form of a stablecoin backed by gold, according to Alexander Brazhnikov, executive director of the Russian Association of Crypto Industry and Blockchain.
FTX says $415 million in crypto was hacked.
FTX has said it had recovered over $5 billion in crypto, cash and liquid securities, but that significant shortfalls remained at both its international and U.S. crypto exchanges. FTX attributed some of the shortfall to hacks, saying that $323 million in crypto had been hacked from FTX’s international exchange and $90 million had been hacked from its U.S. exchange since it filed for bankruptcy.
Latin American Web3 infrastructure provider Parfin raises $15M.
Parfin, a Latin American Web3 infrastructure provider, has raised $15 million in a seed investment round. The funding was led by crypto investment firm Framework Ventures, the company said in a statement, adding that L4 Venture Builder, a corporate venture capital fund backed by the Brazilian stock exchange B3, also invested.
