MadWorld, a post-apocalyptic shooter game developed by Carbonated Inc., has opened registration for its Early Access playtest.
This follows the closure of an $11M Series A funding round, led by South Korean gaming company Com2uS and including VC-heavyweights such as Andreessen Horowitz, Bitkraft Ventures, Cypher Capital and more.
MadWorld’s public launch is expected to arrive later this year.
What is MadWorld?
Set on Earth following an event known as “The Collapse,” MadWorld sees players fight for survival across a post-apocalyptic landscape.
Ownership, enhancement, and trading of tokenized representations of real-world locations is a key feature, with 250,000 land plots set on a hexagonal grid. Each land plot offers distinct resources and advantages, prompting players to form clans to gather what they need – by any means necessary.
To acquire these resources, Clans pay tributes to NFT landowners in the form of “Rounds,” an in-game currency that can be exchanged for a fungible token.
